At the Claws of the Monster

I was hiding underneath a colossal tree after hours of running in the dense forest. My broken leg was in excruciating pain, but I must move to outplay the monsters. But before I could take another stride, the mythical creature caught me by surprise.

With eyes red as flame, razor-sharp fangs and piercing claws, it raised its head and gave out its thunderous howl of victory—a terrifying cry for its prey’s demise. But before its fangs could tear my paralyzed body, a deafening blast rolled the forest floor. Blood splattered and I fell to the ground, free from its claws.

Love Under the Stars

Photo by Maarten Verstraete on Unsplash Michael and Grace loved lying under the big sky.  They fancied romantic stargazing together.  “I’m so glad you said ‘yes’ to me,” declared Michael.  “I’m happy to have found you.” “Look at the stars. They’re beaming for us.”  “Thank you, babe.”  “For what?”  “For showing me how lovely the world is under the stars.”  “And thank you, too.”   “For what?”  “For letting me know there are stars in heaven.”  “Someday, there will be three of us watching the stars like this.”  “Then, there will be four of us.”  “And five?”  “As many as the stars…”  They kissed and held hands.

Corona, I Think I’m In Love

Photo by  Toa Heftiba  on  Unsplash The city is on lockdown... I was unsure if I still could, but I must go home.  It was getting late and my stomach was churning. I don’t know, but I later found myself in an empty Dunkin’ Donuts where I heard her angelic voice. Then, I saw her behind the counter. Oh! sweet heavens...  She’s Amber and seeing her made me feel like my shattered heart has mended. Before she could take my orders, I defied the tremors inside and asked her to a date. Her face turned red, looked doubtful but besotted. Then, she smiled and said, “Yes.”  THE CUTHING EDGE     CAPTURED       THE BREADIEWER       HUBPAGES A WALK THROUGH LIFE         AMAZON     BARNES & NOBLES

Life and Love in Paris

Photo by  Hamish Duncan  on  Unsplash The coldest winter in Paris has just ended.  It’s been 15 years since I came here to start a new life. I wanted change, so I’ve to forget everything back home, even the most beautiful memories like my dog, Chico, and my bike. I miss my little brother, Enzo. And I realized, I miss Carri e.  But when I moved to get myself a cup of coffee, I saw another man, half-naked, sharing my bed. I sit by the window with a mug of coffee and see the first hint of sunlight. Spring in Paris is just perfect.
